The 2nd OneSong International Music Competition - Violin Division will take place in Taipei in 2025, gathering the world's top performers through an international jury and awards designed for professional contestants. This competition is unique worldwide for featuring a Taiwanese musical work as its content, providing the highest standard stage for performers seeking a high level of achievement. The jury, composed of internationally renowned performers, will oversee the competition through preliminary rounds, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals, all broadcast live online, offering contestants the fullest spotlight. We are confident that through this professional competition, world-class musicians will emerge in the spring of 2025 in Taipei.

A. Eligibility：
i. No nationality restrictions.
ii. Under 35 years old. (Born on or after February 18, 1990.)
iii. Contestant under 18 must provide consent from a legal guardian.

B. Application Fee and Period：
USD 100 / May 1, 2024, to November 10, 2024, (Taipei Time)

C. Application Materials:.

- Application form
- A submission of a video for the preliminary round.The recording angle must be frontal, in one take without any edits; videos must be uploaded in .mov or .mp4 format to YouTube (set as "private") or to a cloud service (please pay attention to the volume recording settings). It is recommended to upload a high-resolution video with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1280X720.
- A photocopy of the passport.
- A self-introduction in English, along with a personal photo (including educational and career background, significant performances, competitions, awards, and music reviews published in newspapers and magazines; please provide a photo file larger than 2MB in JPG, PNG, etc.).
- Public Broadcasting Authorization

The competition will be conducted in four stages: preliminary,Quarter-Finals,Semi-finals and Final.

With the Quarter-Finals,Semi-finals and final stage being judged through live performance.

Date: May 1, 2024, to November 10, 2024(Taipei time), the result of quarter-finalist will be posted on December 15, 2024.
Repertoire requirements:

i. LEE, CHE-YI:’’ Unaccompanied Violin No. 7 ‘’(Inspired by the early morning drum)

ii. A live performance video taken within two years (10 min).

The evaluation will be based on the materials provided by the participants. The top 20 will be qualified to the quarter-finals, and the finalists will be notified by letter. The draw for the Quarter-Final Round will be conducted via live webcast on January 15, 2025.
The materials provided by the participants must be free of copyright disputes and are to be provided to the organization at no cost for the purpose of promoting the event.

Date: February 18, 2025 (Taipei time)
Repertoire requirements:

i. Choose two unaccompanied pieces from Repertoire Library A ; a draw at the competition will decide which one to play.

ii. Choose one piece to perform with piano accompaniment from Repertoire Library B.

Notes:

i. The accompaniment will be assigned. Each contestant will have one 40 minute- rehearsal on February 16、17, 2025.

ii.The schedule will be based on the order of performance in the finals.

iii. The selection of designated pieces for performance on February 18, 2025, will be conducted through a draw during registration.

Venue: Taipei Zhongshan Hall
Quarter-Finals Scoring Method:

i. Scored by professional judges.

ii. Based on the results, the top 10 will be qualified to the semi-finals, and the order for the semi-finals will be determined by drawing lots.

Date: February 20, 2025 (Taipei time)
Repertoire requirements:

i. A commissioned piece for the competition (unaccompanied)

ii. One's own choice from Music Library B (with piano accompaniment)
(must NOT be the same as the piece chosen for the quarter-finals)

iii. LEE, CHE-YI: ‘’Raining in April Fantasy’’ (with piano accompaniment)

Notes:

i. The accompanist will be assigned. Each contestant will have one 60 minute-rehearsal on February 19, 2025.

ii.The schedule will be based on the order of performance in the finals.

Venue: Taipei Zhongshan Hall
Scoring Method:

i. Judged by a panel of professional jurors.

ii. Based on the semi-finals results, the top 5 contestants will advance to the finals, with the order of performance determined by drawing lots.

iii. The commissioned piece for the semi-finals will be sent to the contestants after the quarter-finals participants are confirmed.

Date: February 22, 2025 (Taipei time)
Repertoire requirements:

i. LEE, CHE-YI: "The Golden Era" Violin Concerto

Notes:

i. Accompanied by OneSong Orchestra.

ii. Rehearsal on February 21, 2025, each contestant will have one 60-minute rehearsal.

iii. The schedule will be based on the order of performance in the finals.

i. Judged by a panel of professional jurors.

＊Notes：

The organizer owns all rights to the videos of the Competition and concert (including public transmission, public broadcasting, remake, and other relevant rights).
Submitted application materials (including the recordings) will not be returned.
All Competition rounds will be documented for archival and promotional purposes. Photographs, audio and visual recordings may be printed in publications or broadcast on TV, radio, or the internet. By joining the Competition, Candidates agree to waive any rights relating to the participation in the Competition, including all visual, audio and application materials.
The Jury reserves the rights to disqualify any applicant who provides untruthful, misleading or inaccurate information or materials, or breaches any of the terms and conditions of the Competition.
The Organiser reserves the right to cancel or make changes to any details of the Competition, including but not limited to the Jury, repertoire and schedule. In case of any dispute, the Organiser reserves the right of the final decision.
The competition order is determined through a draw, with the order of performances being the same as the rehearsal.
The organizer will accept one request per participant for a change of repertoire for the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals if submitted before January 1, 2025.
Perticipants must obtain all necessary rights and permissions for their chosen pieces, including but not limited to: score rental, performance rights, and the right to broadcast and livestream the competition.

The organizer holds all rights to the competition process and the audiovisual recordings of the concert (including the rights to broadcast, reproduce, and publish, among others). The prize money will be withheld for taxes by the organizer according to the tax laws of the Republic of China, and the net amount will be transferred to the winners' personal bank accounts after tax deduction. Accommodation and transportation costs are to be borne by the participants themselves, with no additional subsidies provided by the organizer.The Best Popularity Award will be determined by the number of votes cast online.
